Blu-Ray

X-Box could really benefit by including a Blu-Ray player in its next generation gaming console. I believe competition will be extremely fierce for the next gen consoles with both sides going all out.

Who serves to benefit, we do! Of course it will come at a price that we will all eventually pay...

Just imagine if they didn't include blu-ray, that will probably be the biggest games console fail EVER!
Blu-ray is of course they way physical media seems to be going for the foreseeable future, this generation was held back quite a bit because of Microsoft choosing the DVD format. Rockstar, the developers of the GTA franchise, have stated that the XBOX 360s DVD format was a limiting factor when they were creating GTA IV and as such had to make the "world" smaller, which then affected us PS3 users as we had to have the same "world", meaning that the amount of data on the blu-ray disk was the same as on the XBOX's DVD disk. Which is a shame, just imagine how much bigger it could have been, and how much more variety of cars and people, not to mention the fact the story could have ten been much longer, even though the current story is quite good anyway.

Just came across an interesting article stating that Microsoft will not go will blu-ray this generation or next generation. Apparently a top Microsoft employee said that using Blu-ray was the best choice. Linky.
